“K” Line names Black Sea network01/05/03 “K” Line (Europe) Ltd has appointed new agency representatives to oversee growing container trade with Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine. With effect from May 1st, Capital Logistics and Transport will be responsible for “K” Line’s container services in Bulgaria and Romania, while MET Ltd will represent “K” Line’s container services in Ukraine.Commenting on the appointments Mr Eizo Murakami, Director, Container Business Group at “K” Line’s European headquarters in London said: “With our continuing expansion in the Eastern Mediterranean, we are now seeing increased demand both into and out of the Black Sea region. Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine are important and developing markets for “K” Line and these new members of our agency family will allow us to better manage our growth and take advantage of the commercial opportunities.”
“K” Line has recently announced improved Mediterranean services, including the launch of a new Asia-Mediterranean Shuttle (AMS) link at the end of April deploying six 2000 TEU ships. With the start of the AMS service and the switch of hub port from Malta to Port Said on the AES-2 service, “K” Line now has four westbound and three eastbound calls each week at its Egyptian hub, from where it serves the whole East Mediterranean and Black Sea region with frequent feeder sailings.
