K Line starts Total Vessel Performance Analysis System

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd., (K-Line), is pleased to announce the inauguration of the ”Total Vessel Performance Analysis System” into practice. It consists of ”Abstract Log Control System” and ”Remote Data Monitoring and Analysis System in Engine Plant.” These systems make it possible to transmit Log Book and Engine Plant data of navigating ships to the Internet Data Centre by either High Frequency or else a communications satellite. In the next process, the transmitted data can be shared on the Internet among all parties concerned on shore, offering a wider range of options for more efficient ship management and operation.Taking advantage of the system’s capabilities, K-Line will exert even greater efforts for the upgrading of efficiency in jobperformance and for promotion of paperless work procedures. K-Line is convinced that these efforts will lead to further enhancement of safety in navigation/cargo operations and environmental preservation, fundamental objectives in ”K” Line’s present management direction.
